On average, O'Krey Construction builds 4-6 homes per year. We are able to offer competitive pricing and full time attention to detail that your new home construction project deserves. Whether you have raw undeveloped land, a graded pad or a building you would like to have demolished and replaced with a new home, O'Krey Construction is ready to break ground on your project.

Dan O'Krey

 

 

              Vice President

Born and raised in San Diego county, Dan began his construction career in 1994 when he began working for his family. With a passion for building, Dan and his father, James O’Krey, founded O’Krey Construction Inc. in 1997. Over generations of building, O’Krey Construction has completed countless residential and commercial projects in San Diego County.

Although he is the face of O'Krey Construction, you won't find Dan sitting in the office! He is out there every day supervising and working onsite every job alongside our team of skilled tradesman and other subcontractors. 

When Dan's not out in the trenches, he enjoys fishing, camping, playing music and spending time with his wife and their two kids.

James O'Krey  President

 

James O'Krey has been in the construction industry for decades. He received his contractors license in 1983 and has been actively working on residential new construction, commercial projects and remodels. Over the course of his career, James has completed over 150 construction projects including 30 ground up construction projects. 

James is an active member of BIA (Building Industry Association) as well as the Builders & Remodel Council. After countless years in the field, James passed along his business to his son, Dan O'Krey who is currently the Vice President and lead contractor for O'Krey Construction Inc. 

When James isn't in the field, you can find him on the golf course, playing music and enjoying his partial retirement to the fullest.

Project Manager

Oversee overall construction schedule, sub contractor coordination, contracts management, onsite project visits to ensure quality and safety standards are met, maintain master job files, provide support to Vice President.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years Project Management experience in a construction setting
  • Proficient in excel and other Microsoft programs
  • College degree preferred 

General Labor

Contractor or part-time onsite general labor needed for construction job clean-up and general carpentry such as installing mirrors, bathroom fixtures and keeping the overall job site clean and hazard free.

Qualifications

  • Effective time management, can be on time and stay on task 
  • Experience on construction sites preferred
